Today is the beginning of the new project, and the theme is unlovely. I understand that the theme can be evil and not beautiful, but the final result is beautiful. After this theme, I conceived three different ones, the first one is whale explosion,
and the second one is Voodoo Doll. The third is to start with Edgar’s ballet.
After discussion with my classmates in this class, they also agree with me to choose the third theme, because I have not figured out how to present the beautiful side in the first two, while the third theme is unlovely, which is the social background. I have done some research in advance and discovered that this painting describes a social reality at the time. because behind these beautiful ballerinas is a man in a suit who controls them and it’s only through service that they can get on stage. These girls are called “little mice”. Every stage is staging a seemingly beautiful performance, but behind it is the dark side of social moral deformity. This shows the unlovely side. In a lovely aspect, first of all, a ballet dancer is a beautiful image. After the combination, I finally want to appeal to girls to make their own decisions and master their own destinies. I want to break the monotonous and lonely white skirt and let girls be masters of their own and have a rich life. I first conceived a preliminary mind map. The keywords I thought were ballet, lace, pleats, various physical and mental binding elements, as well as the research on men in black, such as power suits. Because some of my classmates had learned ballet during the class, and I was recommended to watch the film “Dancer”, I thought I could also watch it as preliminary research.
Because at the beginning of choosing the theme, I wrote down some keywords. But more branches need to be developed to refine each word.
