Through my introduction, I also found that I lacked some first-hand research. Most of my research materials were found on the Internet. By watching my classmates’ works, I found that many of them went to offline exhibitions of artists or to find places related to their own themes. First-hand research is indeed significant and will be helpful for the subsequent design. Meanwhile, Giles suggested that I go to the Courtald Gallery， because there was an exhibition of Edgar’s paintings, and I thought seeing some real paintings would help me understand the context better. After that, as I studied a lot of elements at the beginning, but in the process of development, I found that whether it is to be used in the fabric or some parts that can develop the stage design, they all need to have their priorities, so I have to select again. My classmates advised me to keep the elements of the chain and flowers and pills. However, the latter two are not easy to preserve. My initial idea is to use glue to seal and isolate air, but at the same time, I still need to figure out how to better integrate it into my fabric. At the same time, I also learned some knitting skills by sharing them with my classmates. Besides knitting with the knitting frame, I can also use the needle to knit. I also want to add some other methods, such as crochet or needle, to make the effect of knitting, not all knitting. The fabric will be a little monotonous.
Next, I need to start making fabrics and expand some elements used in the research. And combined with fabric production.
