This week is mainly about the extraction of contour experiment, collage and sketch painting. I mainly arranged the finished fabric on the mannequin, and then collage different pieces on PS for the second time to extract the contour. I first used the gauze skirt I bought in Traid near the school, and then combined with the fabric. However, since the gauze skirt had many layers, I cut a single piece of gauze skirt to transform it by way of pleats. During the class, I also put one of the fabrics on my classmate arms and took some pictures. I found that it could also be used as a cuff and could be drawn into the final.

After that, I made collages on mannequins. I found that I could find some new ideas in the process of transformation. For example, on the mannequin I only put the fabric on the shoulder, but by flipping and copying it can appear in any part of the clothing.

Or like one of my collages, I want a piece of fabric to take on the silhouette of a coat, so I compress and copy it into a symmetrical shape. After collage, I drew some draft with pencil and watercolor. I think it is more important for textile to present the idea and color of fabric in the sketch, which is more conducive to the development of the idea of final look.
In conclusion, I think the experiment process is very important. I got many new design ideas through this week’s experiment.
